Electric Drill
- Function: Primarily used for drilling holes in wood, metal, and plastic materials. When equipped with a forward/reverse switch and electronic speed control, it can also function as an electric screwdriver. Some models come with rechargeable batteries, allowing operation without an external power supply for a certain period.
Rotary Hammer
- Also known as a hydraulic drill. It is sometimes incorrectly referred to as an "impact drill" in the market.
- A power tool used for drilling into bricks, concrete, artificial or natural stone. Typically features impact and drill modes; some types also support chiseling with active hammering functionality.
- Functions of an electric drill and rotary hammer can be interchangeable. Lightweight rotary hammers commonly use SDS-PLUS chucks and bits, while medium and heavy-duty models use SDS-MAX systems, which can also hold chisels.
